Essentials
At Grace, the first step of our Discipleship Pathway is Come & See. Through personal relationships in a variety of contexts, we invite people to consider who Jesus is and to explore how the truth of the gospel can transform their lives.
Once an individual places their faith in Jesus, we want to come alongside them and guide them in their discipleship journey. That’s where Essentials comes in.
Essentials is a series of four 6-week courses that are designed for believers to explore the fundamental tools, practices, and knowledge as they begin their journeys as followers of Jesus.
Foundations: Our Beginning
As a church, we believe that we are called to become like Jesus together. This isn't just about accumulating knowledge about God, but transformation. Foundations is designed as the entry point to this transformative journey.
Over six sessions, we'll explore the essential building blocks of Christian faith and practice:
- The Gospel: Understanding the difference between justification and sanctification
- Baptism & Communion: Participating in the sacred practices that mark our faith
- How to Read the Bible
- Beloved: Our Identity in Christ
- Belonging In Our Multi-Ethnic Church
- The Holy Spirit: Our Helper, Our Guide, Our God
This class may be for you if you are new to the Christian faith or maybe have been in church for some time but want to take steps to go deeper.
Note: If you have not yet been baptized as a follower of Jesus and are looking to make this public proclamation of faith, we invite you to attend the next session of Foundations, and we’ll walk with you to the water.
