“Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”

– Matthew 5:16

Beyond Local exists to take the Good News of Jesus Christ beyond the four walls of the Grace building and into our local communities. Rooted in the Great Commission, we are dedicated to discipling, equipping, and mobilizing our people to share Christ’s love and truth in practical, transformative ways. We focus on loving our neighbors well, meeting their needs with compassion, and building genuine relationships that reflect the heart of Jesus.

Beyond Local Ministries

Clothing Closet

Our Clothing Closet transforms lives by providing gently used clothing to those in need, in partnership with local schools and organizations. Join our team to bring hope to our community—sort donations, fulfill requests, and serve at our bi-annual outreach events. Together, we can live out the calling of Luke 3:11: “Whoever has two tunics is to share with him who has none, and whoever has food is to do likewise.”

ESL Ministry

Our ESL Ministry intentionally demonstrates the love of Christ to adult English learners by teaching English as a second language, celebrating diverse cultures, and building meaningful relationships. Serve as a teacher for two hours each week in our local schools, or join our K-5 ESL playgroup to work with children. This is a wonderful opportunity to make a lasting impact on both adults and children, sharing God’s love through language and connection.

“The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the Lord your God.” (Leviticus 19:34)

Unhoused Outreach

Our Unhoused Support Ministry is committed to demonstrating Christ’s love by offering practical assistance and emotional support to individuals and families experiencing homelessness. Through partnerships with local shelters, community centers, and outreach programs, we provide essentials such as food, clothing, and hygiene products, while also connecting individuals with resources that can support their journey toward stability and restoration. We strive to walk alongside those in need, helping them navigate the challenges of their circumstances.

Grace4Freedom

Our ministry exists to bring the hope and restoration of the gospel to victims and survivors of human trafficking, affirming their dignity and worth in Christ. Through intercession, education, and intentional partnerships, we seek to increase awareness, advocate for justice, and equip our community to respond with compassion. We are committed to supporting survivors through prayer, practical aid, and collaboration with ministries and organizations already engaged in this vital work. United in faith, we strive to be a light in the darkness, serving as Christ’s hands and feet to those in need.

School Engagement

Our School Engagement Ministry partners with local schools—Laurel Woods Elementary, Bollman Bridge Elementary, Homewood Center, Swansfield Elementary, Stevens Forest Elementary, and Ducketts Lane Elementary—to serve students, families, and staff in meaningful ways. Through events like staff appreciation, back-to-school celebrations, backpack drives, classroom volunteering, and donations, we work together to foster thriving communities and reflect God’s love.

Mentorship

Our Mentorship Ministry is dedicated to walking alongside students, providing support, guidance, and encouragement as they navigate their academic, personal, and spiritual journeys. Through one-on-one relationships, mentors offer a safe space for students to grow, explore their potential, and develop essential life skills. This ministry fosters a nurturing environment where students are empowered to make positive choices, build confidence, and experience the love of Christ. Mentors have the opportunity to serve as positive role models, helping students understand their value and purpose in God’s plan.

Refugee

Through the Refugee Ministry, we extend hospitality, build bridges of reconciliation, and reflect Christ’s love to immigrant and refugee families who are settling into our communities. By welcoming them into relationship and walking alongside them in their journey, we can be vessels of God’s Kingdom in their lives. This is a unique opportunity to live out Jesus’ command to love our neighbors and His commission to make disciples of all nations. Who better to bring the message of hope, love, and grace than those called to reflect Christ’s heart? Join us as we step into this mission of love and see God’s Kingdom flourish among our neighbors.

Refugee

The Family Support Ministry walks alongside families in challenging seasons, offering care, resources, and love. We partner with pregnancy centers to support expectant parents, serve vulnerable families, and empower teen parents through YoungLives. Our goal is to reflect God’s love, providing hope and strength to every family we serve.

“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ.” — Galatians 6:2
