Martin Luther King Jr. Day 2024

Martin Luther King Jr. Day is a day for us to remember Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and celebrate his legacy of speaking out against injustice and pointing others toward the love and peace of the gospel. As a leader in the Civil Rights Movement and a minister in the Baptist church, Dr. King gave many speeches and sermons on love and justice. We encourage you to take some time today to read or listen to one of his messages, reflect on his teaching, and a have a conversation with family and friends about it.

Our Grace staff team will read and discuss his sermon titled “Paul’s Letter to American Christians.” You can read along with us here.

As you read, here are some questions to consider:

  • Do you have relationships in your life that cause you to be uncomfortable for love?
  • What intentional or sacrificial steps can you take to love someone who isn’t just like you?

If you’re looking for more resources, works from Dr. King, or ways to celebrate Martin Luther King Day, we encourage you to check out The Martin Luther King, Jr. Research and Education Institute at Stanford or The King Center.
