What a weekend! We saw students and adults alike proclaim their faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior through baptism, and we still have more of their stories to share!

Here’s high school student Timothy Yan’s story:

I grew up in a Christian home and I had a loving and supporting family. I always went to church on weekends and never felt like there was anything wrong with me or evil about me even though God had said in the Bible that all have sinned with Adam and Eve and fallen short of him. Growing up in a Christian home convinced me that since my family was saved I must be OK too.

That was not true.

God has done a spectacular thing in my heart. He allowed me to see and hear the love and compassion for him. I also realized how much I needed God in my life. God has a plan for me and I could not change it. He gave his love and Son freely.

I am now a committed Christian and follower of Jesus. I don’t want to be a lukewarm Christian. I want to be an authentic Christian who is set on fire by him.

I have grown up not as someone who is brainwashed or as someone who just says I am a Christian on the outside, but inwardly acts as if he knows nothing about God whatsoever.

Some might say it is OK to sin because once you are saved it does not matter how much you sin because you cannot be unsaved. While I know my salvation is secure, I still try to be more like Jesus because it is what God has called me to do and by doing so I am entering into a stronger relationship with him.

I am now proclaiming my faith openly as a believer in Christ Jesus as a testament to this faith.

Baptism at Grace

During all worship gatherings on Baptism Weekends, we celebrate the very reason we exist as a church: Christ’s mission to make disciples, baptizing and teaching in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28: 19-20). We share testimonies of how Jesus changes lives now and for eternity. And the best part… we baptize with a joy that’s out of this world!
