+ Remember, God made a special promise to a man named, Abraham.

+ God loved a man named Abraham

+ God promised him that he would have a family as big as all of the stars 

+ God kept that promise and Abraham had a son Isaac who grew up and had a son named Jacob

+ Jacob had a big family with a lot of sons. He had 12!

+ One of his youngest sons was named Joseph 

+ Jacob gave Joseph a special colorful coat

+ His older brothers didn’t get special coats

+ This made them sad

+ The older brothers had a terrible idea and they made a bad choice

+ The brothers took Joseph’s coat and threw him in a deep hole

+ Joseph was taken far away from his home

+ He had to work for a mean king

+ Joseph was scared but he worked hard because he knew God was with him

Father God, thank you that you are a God who is always with us and who always keeps His promises!! Thank you that you love us so much and gave us the promise of your Son, Jesus, to be our friend forever.  We love you and pray this in your Holy name. Amen.
