Marriage on a Mission
Tom and Sandi Blaylock met during a youth group retreat in 1982. After saying “I do” in 1989 they went on to serve in student ministry for 8 years and then planted a church near Lansing, Michigan in 1999. Tom began coaching pastors and church leaders in 2004 and together they launched Marriage on Mission Ministries in 2016. They have 3 children, 2 grandchildren, and one Boykin Spaniel named Rocky.

He is now touring all over the country (as well as internationally) performing at clubs, festivals, fundraisers, churches, corporate events, bars with 4 people in them that “didn’t know there would be comedy tonight…” Andrew possesses a unique perspective that pairs well with his dry delivery and observational nature.

Andrew Stanley, Comedian
Homeschooled preacher’s kids with finance degrees don’t usually quit their Budget Analyst jobs that provide health insurance to be stand-up comedians, but Andrew Stanley didn’t know that. He is now touring all over the country (as well as internationally) performing at clubs, festivals, fundraisers, churches, corporate events, bars with 4 people in them that “didn’t know there would be comedy tonight…” Andrew possesses a unique perspective that pairs well with his dry delivery and observational nature. He was the winner of the 2017 Search for the South’s Funniest Accountant and in 2019, he was selected as a New Face of Comedy at Montreal’s prestigious Just For Laughs Comedy Festival. Andrew’s parents are still alive so he works clean.

Tom and Sandi celebrated their 33rd anniversary in 2022. Outside of investing in the healthy marriages of ministry-minded couples, Tom serves as the Director of Coaching at Five Capitals – an organization dedicat-ed to helping Christian business leaders thrive. Tom’s coaching focuses on empowering leaders who are ready for more through EQ growth, biblical leadership tools and a robust coaching process. Sandi manages vacation properties for Hammock Coast Life, a new real estate company in their hometown of Pawleys Island, SC. She also loves being a grandma and spends as much time as possible loving on those grandbabies.
Tom and Sandi speak at churches, conferences, and retreats throughout the country on healthy marriage principles. Tom coaches ministry couples and together they host marriage retreats and workshops in Pawleys Island, SC.
Tom and Sandi wrote Marriage on Mission in 2016 as they reflected on the struggles they experienced during their years of planting and leading a local church. This book is a very honest recounting of how their marriage began pulling apart amidst the stress of ministry, their underdeveloped emotional intelligence (EQ), unresolved family of origin issues, and a lack of healthy boundaries. Through Christian counseling, pastoral mentoring, a group of dedicated friends that stood by their side, and the enduring grace of God, their marriage began to heal and strengthen after a several years of conflict and heart– ache. This book was written for every Christian couple who desires to love and serve God together.
