Meet siblings Devin and McKenzie who are getting baptized at the end of the month:
My name is Devin Rollison. I live in a happy and loving household with my mother, father, and younger sister. I wish to be baptized as a step to further my relationship with Christ, as I publicly proclaim my trust in him.
There has never been a time I did not believe in Jesus. Due to my background, all I have ever known was Christ, and that’s all I have ever been taught. Even though there have been struggles in my life, the struggles have strengthened my relationship with Christ.
When I went to a church when I was younger, I felt a very strong connection, from the pastors’ words to the reactions of believers. I learned a lot from that church, and it will always be in my heart, for it took me several steps further with Christ. It made me see Christ differently and I committed my life to him even more. Later on, I went to Grace Community Church. The D-team leaders took their time and thoroughly explained the Word to me. This helped me to draw closer to Christ, and I consider this my turning point.
God helps me in many ways now. I feel even closer to him and to others. I see how God blesses me and my family. I no longer feel afraid, for I know God has it all under control; and I no longer get upset, for I know God has it all worked out.
Again, I wish to be baptized to take another step in my walk with Christ and to show that I’m with Jesus all the way to the end.
My name is Mckenzie Rollison. I am a Child of God who wishes to further my relationship with Jesus.
Jesus has always been with me. I have been born and raised being taught about Jesus, so there’s never been a time when I didn’t believe in him. All I have ever known was Christ. I have had struggles, and I’m certain I will continue to have struggles, but I am confident that these struggles have strengthened my relationship with Christ.
In middle school I learned to appreciate Jesus due to the fact that I’d see my peers neglect him. My peers would take Jesus’ name in vain, so I made it my job to share the Word with others in my school. I think of this as my turning point.
Jesus is my inspiration. He helps me in life in multiple ways and blesses those around me. He gives me new ideas and has shown me how I can be an even brighter light in the world.
I wish to get baptized to show God I accept him as my Lord and Savior, I wish to show my appreciations, and to wish to embrace the sign of being made new as I rise from the water.
Baptism at Grace
During all worship gatherings on Baptism Weekends, we celebrate the very reason we exist as a church: Christ’s mission to make disciples, baptizing and teaching in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28: 19-20). We share testimonies of how Jesus changes lives now and for eternity. And the best part… we baptize with a joy that’s out of this world!
