It’s so cool to see how God has been at work in the lives of our students. Middle school student Sarah Stetser was baptized last weekend, and here’s her story:
Over the past year I have felt an abundance of God’s love as my family went through a very bumpy transition. It seemed like there was no end, until God came and he saved me from what could have broken me.
Before I trusted Christ as my Savior I would act as if I was perfectly fine and that nothing was wrong. I kept on trying to drown out what was happening, but nothing brought me comfort… until I started coming to church again. I finally let my guard down and let God come in and take over. If I needed comfort he was there; if I needed direction, he was there leading the way. Throughout this journey I have also had the best friend anyone could have – she made me laugh when I didn’t know where to go and she also pointed me to God when I was lost. Frankly, if I didn’t have her I would still be lost.
Now with accepting Christ into my life as my Lord and Savior, I have been so happy and I actually can see a light at the end of the tunnel, I have been able to transition to middle school perfectly fine and I have followed Christ wherever he has lead me.
Baptism at Grace
During all worship gatherings on Baptism Weekends, we celebrate the very reason we exist as a church: Christ’s mission to make disciples, baptizing and teaching in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28: 19-20). We share testimonies of how Jesus changes lives now and for eternity. And the best part… we baptize with a joy that’s out of this world!
