I grew up in Maryland, and my family went to church every weekend. I was a part of the youth group, I played on the worship team, and I was even baptized. Although I was involved in these church activities, I knew that there was something missing in my life.

Anxiety and fear were a constant in my life and I would use different substances or sports involvement to help myself manage these fears. This was only a temporary fix and eventually I wound up in the hospital with an anxiety attack.

When I went off to college, God started to challenge me and what I believed through my soon to be wife. I realized that I didn’t know what I believed, and I decided to read the Bible and listen to different sermons on the radio. Through this, the Gospel message started to pierce my heart and it became clear to me who Jesus was. While my wife and I were going through a family emergency, Jesus revealed Himself to me in a way that was undeniable, and that day I put my faith in Jesus Christ, and things will never be the same.

Since I put my faith in Jesus, I realized that a relationship with Him is what I was missing in my life. Fear and anxiety still show up, but I now have an eternal resource to go to and His Word to comfort and strengthen me. Jesus offers a peace and security that I have never known, and I can say that He is a good Father.

I believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sin and that He rose from the grave. My faith is in that truth, and that’s why I want to get re-baptized today.
