By Seth Rumsey, Pastor of Community Groups
It was a beautiful sight this past Sunday to see hundreds of people looking for community met by hundreds of group leaders ready to receive them with open arms. The apostle Paul instructs us in Romans 15:7 to “Welcome one another, therefore, just as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.” The overwhelming welcome of God in Jesus Christ was put on display at our annual Groups Kick Off event, as men, women, and entire families found a place to be known, loved, and discipled in Christian community. It was a reminder that life in Christ is meant to be experienced side by side with other believers and that no one is meant to navigate this life alone. I am proud of our groups and ministry leaders who extended a warm and overwhelming welcome to new people and families for the glory of God. Thank you to all of you who made this event possible and may God bless those who, as a result, are connected to Christian community and will face tomorrow with a group of people at their side.
If you were unable to join us for the Groups Kick Off, I encourage you to head over to grace.community/groups to learn about our groups at Grace. You can also always reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org for info.
