Grace was baptized yesterday! Check out her story:
My name is Grace Hull, and I am a 14-year-old freshman in high school. I have two younger brothers, one in 6th grade and the other in 7th grade. I spend most of my time running for my school’s cross country team, swimming, taking pictures, and caring for my animals.
I have grown up in a family who loves Jesus. I loved going to Sunday School each week, so I decided to trust Christ when I was around 6 years old. I don’t remember how my life was before I trusted Christ, and how I have changed since then. Before I became a follower one of my younger brothers trusted in Christ about a year before me. My parents questioned to see if I was just trying to be like my bother or if I was really seeking God. My parents came to the conclusion that I was serious about my faith.
I feel like I’ve grown tremendously in my love for God over the years by attending church, youth group and by talking with my parents. I have found it to be more difficult to follow Christ as I grow up because of peer pressure at school and the way more people view society. Within the past two years I have served on two mission trips, one to Baltimore and the other one to El Salvador. After each of my mission trips, my parents could see a difference in me. I had more of a sense of peace, joy and excitement for Christ. I intend to deepen my relationship with Christ throughout the years because I want to be more like Him.
God has helped me in many ways since I have accepted Him as my Lord and Savior. He helps me feel calm when I am stressed, He helps me make better choices, and He helps me point others to Christ.
I am getting baptized because I want to make a public profession that I am a Christian and have accepted Christ into my heart and life.
Baptism at Grace
During all worship gatherings on Baptism Weekends, we celebrate the very reason we exist as a church: Christ’s mission to make disciples, baptizing and teaching in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28: 19-20). We share testimonies of how Jesus changes lives now and for eternity. And the best part… we baptize with a joy that’s out of this world!
