The buzz around the Grace campus is baptisms, baptisms, baptisms! We’re so excited for Mission Weekend Oct 29 & 30. Here’s a faith journey reflection from Sue Brady…suebrady

“My childhood was shortened by a divorce that separated me from my father and brothers until my teenage years. This time was filled with rebellion from my parents and from God. In my late teens I was able to move back with my father and brothers. Shortly after, I met my husband Ed and together-  me from a broken home and Ed growing up with an abusive father- were determined to build a stable family life. We have been blessed with 36 years of marriage and two children. Katie, our first born, then Eddie, named after his dad to carry on the family name.

My life was completely centered around raising my children, taking care of my husband and keeping our families connected with holiday celebrations and vacations together. My life was full of activity, but still searching for that missing piece. As the children grew we searched to find a church so we as a family could grow in our faith. Always praying for my children to find their faith in the Lord, but not pursuing my personal relationship with Him, but all the while he was pursuing me.

Ed and I leased an office for our real estate business next to a church. Each day at noon the bells of St. Louis rang and each day Ed and I would look at each other and say, “I think this is a sign from God that he has a plan for us.” So we joined the church and started the journey as a family to strengthen our faith. But I still didn’t know I could have that personal relationship and how much I needed that in my life.

As Katie and Eddie grew, they found their way to a Bible-based church and we witnessed our children as they accepted our Lord and Savior into their lives through baptism and the strong faith they exhibited in their daily lives. God’s plan was becoming clear to me as he knew the way to draw me close was through me witnessing my children growing in their faith.

I started attending Grace, joined Connections and a small group to learn and grow toward a relationship with God. I have been so blessed with such amazing, God-fearing women that have walked alongside me to mentor and love me each step of the way. I started praying and asking for God’s forgiveness, and each month that passed I grew more in my walk toward my relationship. I was eager to learn as much as possible about Jesus’ salvation offered to me if I just confess my sins and accept his gift. God uses our passions, what keeps us up at night, to reach out to us!
Everyday is still a challenge for me to be obedient, spend time with him and seek his guidance. My passion today is to continue to strengthen my relationship with God, love on my family, walk alongside my friends and serve in the community.

I can’t wait to complete my full surrender and to be baptized in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit!

I am the daughter of the King!

Baptism at Grace

During all worship gatherings on Baptism Weekends, we celebrate the very reason we exist as a church: Christ’s mission to make disciples, baptizing and teaching in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28: 19-20). We share testimonies of how Jesus changes lives now and for eternity. And the best part… we baptize with a joy that’s out of this world!
