Alana is a middle school student who was baptized Saturday night – here’s her story:
Hi, my name is Alana. I love playing sports, especially soccer and basketball. I also enjoy being around animals and help taking care of them.
Even though I am young, I still had many challenges in my life. Before I trusted Christ, I felt like I was lost without him. In school, I didn’t really stand up for my faith when I had the opportunity to do so. I knew I needed to truly trust God and follow him. I wanted to know that he would be with me no matter what life brought my way in the future.
I truly trusted God and accepted Jesus as my Savior when I learned how important Easter was. It showed us how God would sacrifice anything for us. So I figured the least I can do is trust him as my Lord and Savior. I trusted Jesus as my Savior by writing down a prayer so I would never forget the most important day of my life.
He is working in my new life by helping me get closer to Him. I know that the sudden urge of me wanting to open up the Bible and read it is Jesus telling me that he has a new lesson for me to learn. He also has given me more courage to stand up for my faith, especially in school. I can also tell that I have been more kind and loving to others – even some of my friends have noticed this change.
I was baptized because I knew it was time. Also, I felt like that this was my chance to show everyone that I gave my life to Jesus and that it is all in his hands.
Baptism at Grace
During all worship gatherings on Baptism Weekends, we celebrate the very reason we exist as a church: Christ’s mission to make disciples, baptizing and teaching in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28: 19-20). We share testimonies of how Jesus changes lives now and for eternity. And the best part… we baptize with a joy that’s out of this world!
