“The heavens declare the glory of God and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. Their voice goes out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world.”
– King David, Psalm 19:1-2
I’ll never get over the awe that a beautiful sunrise or sunset inspires. Nor will I ever lose my wonder over the brilliance of the stars and planets in the night sky. The Psalmist tells us that these celestial bodies are actually communicating, declaring every day and night the glories of the God who put them there. No wonder we are moved by their expanse and beauty – God’s telling us something about himself.

But David’s reflections don’t end there. He observes that there’s something even more powerful, more impactful than even the brightest sunrise or the most intense northern lights.

God’s Word. In fact, he spends the rest of the Psalm extolling the benefit of God’s Word to us. God’s instructions revive us. His testimonies give us wisdom. It causes our hearts to rejoice.

As we embark on the next chapter of Grace, it’s so important to tune our hearts to what He is telling us through His Word. We’ll discern what part He wants us to play as we hear from Him, and it turns out that God has a lot to say about how we use the time, treasure, and talents we’ve been entrusted with.

The heart of our staff and elders is to see our church respond obediently and courageously to what God has commanded us through His Word. It’s our prayer that this devotional will be a useful tool to be still, to listen, and to respond to what He desires for us. And as He causes all grace to abound to us, we will have the faith to abound in every good work.

Thanks for being on the journey with us!
