Both of my parents are Christian, and my mom grew up Catholic. I’ve been raised at Grace Community Church since I was 2 years old. When I was growing up in the church I always thought that Jesus was just a story book character from all the mini books I read. I knew he was an actual person, but my spirit couldn’t actually grasp that.
My spirit finally opened up to Christ at the 2018 fall middle school retreat. It really hit me that Jesus was a real person who died on the cross to save us from our sins. Even today he is still saving people.
Audrey Simmons, my “side-by-side”, has really helped throughout my journey to Christ. She is really devoted to Christ in many, many ways no one can imagine. She is my D-Team leader and my GADC camp counselor. She loves to teach girls about Christ. Her love for Jesus is unbreakable, and I feel she changes so many people’s lives.
I feel Christ is really making me and my spiritual life better. I am deciding to be baptized because, I feel that the Lord has shown me that even at a young age, I can help spread the good news out to the world. I also found out that you can make the decision to be baptized in a very short time period after you’ve accepted Christ.
God has helped me in so many ways you can’t imagine. I just hope he can do it to everyone who needs it. Life can get rough when you hit middle school. My secret is to just believe in God that he will guide and stay with you throughout your life. If you do that and ask Jesus into your heart, then I’m sure you will have a place in heaven.
