My life before I decided to trust Jesus as my Lord and Savior, was without hope. My mother passed away when I was 7. Early on, I trusted that my mom, as a believer, was part of God’s kingdom. I knew that if I gave my life to Jesus, I could also be part of his Kingdom. Through high school/college I started to really seek Him and His word. My relationship with Jesus developed as I learned to trust Him completely. He went from being a God that I knew of, to a God that I knew and loved.

My friends and family have always been great reminders in my life to point me back to Him in times of struggle. My husband Shane has helped me immensely in my spiritual growth. In the beginning of our relationship, he challenged me with positive spiritual discussions in a way no one else has before. He encouraged me to read scripture on my own and we also did bible study together. We joined a “young recently married small group” after we first got married in 2017 and although we are no longer part of that group, we are still friends with those members and continue to study together now.

Through my walk with Christ, my life has gained a new perspective. I am now joyful for every day that God has given me and I rest easily knowing I am His child. Jesus is my Lord and savior. As part of the body, I want to encourage others to also make this decision. I felt convicted to get #dunked as a way to witness to my friends, family, peers and students. As His child I declare the words of Philippians 1:20-21: “I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have complete boldness, so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death. For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.”  I have decided to be baptized to make this declaration public.
